Introducing the Nucleus® SmartNav system

Designed to set a new benchmark in intraoperative measurement

The Nucleus® SmartNav system gives you live insights you can apply during electrode insertion to help you navigate the placement of an electrode array. You’ll also be able to review post-insertion measurements including correct electrode placement, impedance and AutoNRT®, accessible via an iPad app and wireless surgical off-the-ear processor.

Correct electrode placement is fundamental to a good surgical outcome.¹⁻²

Added surgical assurance for you and your patients

The Nucleus® SmartNav intraoperative metrics include:

  • Placement Check – provides valuable information on final electrode placement and is designed to reduce the need for intraoperative imaging after electrode insertion.3-5
  • Angular insertion depth – provides real-time measurement of angular insertion depth and final electrode position*.6-9
  • Speed of insertion – provides feedback on the speed and consistency of the electrode insertion.10-12
  • Impedance and AutoNRT® measurements – provides assurance that the device is operating as intended, prior to leaving the operating room.13-14

Streamlined workflow

The Nucleus® SmartNav system introduces a platform which allows you to track and monitor electrode insertion to achieve your desired placement and hearing outcomes.

We've designed the system to enable a streamlined workflow from surgery to clinic. By facilitating the transfer of data between the operating room and fitting software, clinicians can be assured surgery has been successful, and provides a baseline to confidently program patients and help optimise hearing outcomes.15-17
